In a fire accident at the Cochin Shipyard in Kerala this morning 5 people lost their lives and 11 were injured. There was a blast onboard the Sagar Bhushan at around 10:45 A.M. Sagar Bhushan is an Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) drilling ship.
The Kochi Police Commissioner M. V. Dinesh reported the fire was under control. He further added an investigation was launched to pin point the reason behind the blast. Three people are said to be trapped inside the ship and efforts are being made to evacuate them. The oil tank of the ship burst while it was at the docks for repairs.
