‘She-Box’ is an online complaint management system which has been launched on Monday. This system will help women who are harassed at the workplace, to register their complaint online.
Maneka Gandhi, Women and Child Development Minister has launched the system and it will be accessed at the link: http://www.wcd-sh.nic.in
“The complaint management system has been developed to ensure the effective prevention of Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act (the SH Act), 2013,” said an official statement.
Women who have already registered a written complaint with the Internal Complaint Committee are also permitted and are eligible to file their complaint in this newly launched portal.
Maneka Gandhi said at a launch that this facility is applicable to the Central Government employees and soon the scope of the portal will be extended to women employees of the private sector.
Further, she explained her Ministry would carry out a National level survey to assess and understand the extent of the issue. She also noted that there are some surveys which gave the magnitude of the harassment of women at the organization.
As per the Census of Central Government employees, women constitute 10.93 percent (3.37 lakhs) of them in the year 2011.
