Two people on a bike died in an accident on the newly opened Signature Bridge in Delhi, today, around 8:45 A.M.

The incident took place when two young men were riding a bike at a high speed on the Signature Bridge. While riding the bike, they lost control and rammed into a divider. This caused them to fall down 30 feet and led to their deaths.

Both the victims were rushed to a nearby hospital, but were declared brought dead. The identities of the deceased are still unknown.

Jasmeet Singh, the DCP of Delhi, said, “Two men were riding a KTM Duke bike towards Timarpur from northeast Delhi side. They were speeding and taking a turn towards Majnu Ka Tila when they lost control, the bike hit a road divider, and they fell 25-30 feet down from the bridge.”

Soon after the bridge was opened for the public, a number of cases related to improper parking and violations of the one way rule were reported. The Signature Bridge has become a centre of attraction for the locals, who visit the place and take selfies amidst the high traffic, which can be dangerous.

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, inaugurated the Signature Bridge on the 4th of November. The asymmetrical cable stayed bridge is constructed across the Yamuna river and is 2,214 feet tall, connecting north Delhi to Wazirabad.
