Drunk Driving Kills Two Youngsters In Hyderabad

In another drunk driving case in Hyderabad on Thursday, two youngsters died and four were injured. The incident happened at Saroornagar when the car rammed into the Hyderabad Metro Rail Pillar.

Reports showed that the group of friends were traveling to get dinner after getting drunk at Vanastalipuram.

One of the boys in the car, Sai Kumar Goud invited his friends, Chaitanya, Chakrapani, Krishna Prasanna, Chandra Reddy and Srinath to celebrate his birthday. The group went to MRR Bar and Restaurant where they drank alcohol till 2 A.M.

The police reported that Sai Kumar Goud was driving the car drunk and lost control. Goud tried to avoid hitting another car and swerved, ramming the car into the pillar.

Saroornagar Inspector, S. Lingaiah said, “To avoid a collision, Sai Kumar swerved his car to the right and landed on the median. After landing on the median, the car went into a tailspin and crashed into the metro pillar.”

Goud’s friends, Chaitanya and Srinath died after succumbing to their injuries. The rest were admitted to hospital and are undergoing treatment.

A laborer identified as Ganesh was sleeping under the metro bridge was also injured after the car hit him.

The youngsters were friends from college while Srinath was a graduate applying for higher studies, Chaitanya was making plans to go abroad for higher studies. Saikumar was working at a retail store in the city.

Just last week, a youth died and two of his friends critically injured after hitting the divider. The driver was being rash and lost control of the car that flipped over the divider at a curve. A crane was sent to the spot to get the boys out of the car.
