Dr. Shailendra Kumar Joshi, the Chief Secretary of Telangana, on the 6th of May, issued a notice for the Muslim employees.
According to the notice issued, Muslim employees working for the Government of Telangana are allowed to leave the office early during the holy month of Ramadan.
The permission to leave early will begin from the 7th of May and will continue until the 4th of June.
The circular reads, “The government employees of Telangana State belonging to the Muslim religion, including Teachers and Out-sourcing employees working in government offices, might leave their offices/schools at 4 PM on all working days during the holy month of Ramzan.”
However, the notice issued is not applicable during the time of excessive work and emergency.
This year, the 7th of May is marked as the beginning of Ramadan, following which Muslims will celebrate Eid ulFitr, a three days festival after Ramadan.
During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims will be on fast from dawn till dusk and end their fast with iftar after the evening prayers.
