Goutham Kumar, founder of Serve Needy, a non government organisation (NGO,) entered the Universal Book of Records for serving food to 1,000 people a day.

On the 26th of May, Goutham served food to approximately 1,000 people in various parts of Hyderabad, including places such as Rajendra Nagar and Uppal. Goutham also served food at multiple NGOs in the City.

When asked about the NGO and its purpose, Kumar said he started Serve Needy in 2014 with the aim of preventing hunger and death by starvation.

Kumar said, “I started Serve Needy organisation in 2014 and now we have around 140 volunteers. We have been doing these types of social activities since 2014. But today, I have served food to more than 1,000 people single-handedly. So, it was a world record.”

Goutham Kumar further said he expanded his NGO with 140 volunteers and now seeks help from the Government and public so that the NGO can help more people and avoid death from starvation.

T.M. Srilatha and K.V. Rama Rao, representatives of the Universal Book of Records of Telangana and India respectively, honoured, Goutham with a memento.

With the memento, Kumar becomes the man with a world record of feeding 1,000 people in a day.
