In a major mishap at the Rajiv Gandhi International airport in Hyderabad, a Jazeera Airways flight caught fire. The flight which was landing from Kuwait suddenly burst out flames from the engine.
The shocking incident occurred on Wednesday morning. The 145 passengers were quickly evacuated from the plane. The fire was eventually doused and an inspection of the flight is underway.
An airport spokesperson revealed, “The sparks soon led to fire in the engine and the aircraft was immediately stopped. As per the GMR airport protocol, the authorities rushed fire tenders to the aircraft, but by that time, the fire was immediately brought under control automatically as the pilot stopped the engine.”
The spokesperson also revealed there were no casualties and everyone was safely evacuated from the burning plane. The flight J9 608 of Jazeera Airways from Kuwait to Hyderabad landed around 1:30 A.M.
