China and India have finally decided to disengage from the Doklam dispute.

The Ministry of External Affairs released a statement that read, “In recent weeks, India and China maintained diplomatic communication in respect of incident at Doklam. We were able to express our views and convey our concerns and interests.”

It further added, “On this basis, expeditious disengagement of border personnel at the face off site at Doklam has been agreed to and is on going.”

This releases the tensions between the two countries allowing Prime Minister Narendra Modi to have a peaceful trip to Xiamen for the BRICS Summit next week.

The two countries have been on sour terms for the past two months due to the Doklam issue but now that things have eased it gives way for India and China to more lucrative talks at the five nation meeting.

Many wonder how the disengagement will work out as there are many troops on both sides with massive war weapons. The question is will all the troops return or will some remain as a precaution.
