Two militants were killed, on the 13th of February, in an encounter between security forces and the militants, in Budgam district, Jammu and Kashmir.
The identities of the militants are yet to be discovered.
The gunfight broke out after security officials received information about the terrorists hiding in the Golapara area of Chadoora town in Budgam district.
A police spokesman said, “Based on a credible input about the presence of terrorists, a cordon and search operation was launched in the intervening night jointly by Police and security forces in the area.” He further added “As the searches were going on, the search party was fired upon by the terrorists. The fire was retaliated leading to a gunfight.”
The Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces launched a joint search operation and cordoned off the area.
According to a security official, arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter spot.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police registered a case and started an investigation.
