Jammu And Kashmir – Two Militants Killed In Budgam

Two militants were killed, on the 21st of January, in an encounter between security forces and militants in Budgam district, Jammu and Kashmir.

The gunfight broke out after the security officials received information about some terrorists hiding in the Hapatnar forest of the Charari Sharief area of Budgam district.

According to a media source, a police official said, “As the cordon was being tightened, the hiding terrorists fired upon the security forces triggering the encounter which is presently on.”

The Budgam Police, the 53 Rashtriya Rifles and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a joint search operation and cordoned off the area.

According to sources, the operational team were searching the area when the militants fired at the them, which started the gun battle.

The encounter between the security forces and the militants is still going on.
