The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP,) on the 13th of April, announced, it will contest 4 seats in the Lok Sabha elections of Haryana.

The AAP and the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) announced an alliance in Haryana to contest the Lok Sabha elections against the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

Dushyant Chautala, the President of the JJP, addressed the media at a press briefing and said, “Details of the seat sharing will be clear in another 48 to 72 hours. The candidates will be fielded in a balanced away across north, south and central Haryana. We have set up a committee for that.”

Both the parties, the AAP and the JJP, after a meeting of the committee, will shortlist the candidates who will contest the Haryana Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking about the seat sharing formula, the AAP is confident about nominating its candidates in Gurugram, Faridabad, Ambala and Karnal.

With regard to the decision of forging an alliance, the leaders of the AAP and JJP said, the Nation needs a BJP free state as the BJP has divided Haryana in terms of religion and caste.

The leaders are confident about winning the Lok Sabha elections in Haryana. The AAP and JJP are expected to continue the tie up even after the Lok Sabha elections and fight the Haryana Assembly elections together as well.

Haryana will contest a total of 10 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled on the 12th of May.

The major parties contesting the Haryana Lok Sabha elections are the INC, the BJP and the alliance of the AAP and the JJP.

The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
