On the 23rd of April, in the 3rd phase of the Lok Sabha elections, a total of 13 states and 2 union territories will contest 117 Parliamentary constituencies in India.

The Lok Sabha elections began from the 11th of April and will continue till the 19th of May 2019.

The Lok Sabha elections are divided into 7 phases, scheduled on the 11th of April, 18th of April, 23rd of April, 29th of April, 6th of May, 12th of May and the 19th of May.

On the 11th of April and 18th of April, the Indian states contested a total of 188 seats in the 1st phase and the 2nd phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

The states contesting the Lok Sabha elections in the 3rd phase, scheduled on the 23rd of April, are:

Assam
Lok Sabha seats – 4
Constituencies – Barpeta, Dhubri, Gauhati and Kokrajhar (ST)
Major parties – The Asom Gana Parishad, the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

Bihar
Lok Sabha seats – 5
Constituencies – Madhepura, Supaul, Jhanjharpur, Khagaria and Araria
Major parties– The INC, the BJP, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Janata Dal (United) [JD(U.)]

Chhattisgarh
Lok Sabha seats – 7
Constituencies – Bilaspur, Durg, Raigarh (ST,) Raipur, Surguja (ST), Janjgir Champa (SC) and Korba.
Major parties – The INC, the BJP and the Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (JCC.)

Gujarat
Lok Sabha seats – 26

Lok Sabha seats – 14

West Bengal
Lok Sabha seats – 5
Constituencies – Balurghat, Maldaha Dakshin, Maldaha Uttar, Murshidabad and Jangipur.
Major Parties – The INC, the BJP and the Trinamool Congress (TMC.)

Dadra and Nagar Haveli
Lok Sabha seat – 1

The Tripura Lok Sabha elections were initially scheduled on the 18th of April. However, due to an intelligence report regarding security failures, the Election Commission of India rescheduled the Tripura elections to the 23rd of April.

The Lok Sabha elections will begin polling from 7:00 A.M., and will continue till 6:00 P.M.
The results of all the Lok Sabha constituencies will be declared on the 23rd of May.

The major parties contesting the Lok Sabha elections are the Indian National Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
