On the 9th of May, Atishi, the MP candidate of the AAP from East Delhi with the AAP conducted a press conference and targeted Gautam Gambhir, the MP candidate of BJP from East Delhi.

During the press conference, Atishi alleged Gambhir distributed pamphlets with abusive and derogatory remarks against her in East Delhi.

Atishi is contesting against Gautam Gambhir from the East Delhi constituency in the Delhi Lok Sabha elections.

According to sources, the pamphlets, which AAP claimed was distributed with newspapers in east Delhi societies by Gambhir called Atishi a ‘prostitute’, ‘Beefeater’ and a ‘very good example of a mixed breed.’

Gambhir took to Twitter and blamed Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and the President of AAP for the abusive pamphlets to win the Lok Sabha elections.

The legal notice issued to the AAP states, “The Noticees vide the statements in the press conference and on social media websites (‘impugned statement’) have in a calculated and coordinated manner, wrongly and erroneously alleged that these pamphlets have been distributed by our client/ or at his behest.”

The BJP demanded an apology and asked the AAP to withdraw their allegations or they will face legal action.
