Gautam Gambhir, a Member of Parliament (MP) candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) is the richest candidate contesting the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi.
Gautam Gambhir, a cricketer turned politician, is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from the East Delhi constituency. He has a total net value of Rs. 147 crores, which makes him the richest candidate in Delhi.
Gautam Gambhir owns assets worth Rs. 145 crores, whereas his wife Natasha Gambhir has assets valued at Rs. 8.15 crores. The income of Gautam Gambhir through his cricket career between the 2017 and 2018 financial year was Rs. 12.4 crores, whereas his wife had an income of Rs. 6.15 lakhs as per her income tax returns.
The family also has five cars, a BMW 530D, an Audi Q5, a Maruti SX4, a Baleno, a Mahindra Bolero, as well as a KTM bike.
The net value of Gautam Gambhir was declared after he submitted his affidavit to the Returning Officer (RO) of East Delhi while filing his nomination papers for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Gambhir submitted his nomination papers on the 23rd of April to contest the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi.
Delhi will contest a total of 7 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, scheduled on the 12th of May 2019.
The major parties contesting the Delhi Lok Sabha elections are the INC, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the BJP.
The results of the Delhi Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
