The Indian National Congress (INC) will soon release the Party Manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The Congress Working Committee (CWC,) on the 25th of March, called for a meeting to discuss and draft the Manifesto. All the Party members and CWC members will discuss and approve the draft of the manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections.
It is like a mandatory custom for the INC to conduct a meeting with the CWC after preparing a draft of the manifesto. During the meeting, the CWC will review the manifesto and then approve it, following which, the Party will release the manifesto.
Rahul Gandhi, the President of the INC, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the General Secretary in charge of the AICC in Uttar Pradesh East, and the senior most leaders of the INC and the CWC attended the meeting.
According to sources, the Party is expected to release the manifesto, on the 2nd of April, in Delhi.
The theme of this year’s manifesto of the INC is ‘Jan Awaaz (Your Voice.)’ An INC leader addressed the media and said, “The large theme of this entire manifesto consultation process was, ‘Your aspirations shape the future of India, your voice inspires the change and the Congress is listening to you.’”
The manifesto is said to be a booklet of promises, schemes, welfare activities, programmes and policies of individual parties.
The manifestos basically deal with healthcare, farmers, women security, unemployment, education development, industries, economy, etc.
Every party releases its manifesto, which includes every detail, starting from their agendas to their activities, for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in India.
The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to begin from the 11th of April and will continue till the 19th of May.
The major parties contesting the Lok Sabha elections are the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC.)
The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
