Vanama Venkateshwar, an Indian National Congress (INC) Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing the Khammam district, is expected to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)

Mr. Venkateshwar, on the 15th of March, met K.T. Rama Rao (KTR,) the Working President of the TRS, at his residence.

According to sources, the meeting was held to discuss about Venkateshwar joining the TRS, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Till now, Venkateshwar is said to be the 7th MLA to meet KTR and approach the TRS, the ruling Party of Telangana, for becoming a member of the Party.

However, an official announcement regarding the same is yet to come.

Telangana will contest a total of 17 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled on the 11th of April.

The major parties contesting the Telangana Lok Sabha elections are the INC, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)

The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May.
