The Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) on the 16th of March, launched a campaign, ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar,’ ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Mr. Modi took to Twitter and shared a video with the same title and said, he is not the only chowkidar (watchman) as everyone who is fighting against corruption, social evils and dirt and serving the nation is one.
The campaign is said to be an answer to the continuous criticism of the Indian National Congress (INC,) which often passes negative comments about PM Modi, stating, “Chowkidar Chor Hai.”
During the 3 minutes and 45 seconds of the campaign video, Mr. Modi addressed every citizen of India and titled the track as ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar Hun.’

The BJP leaders said, the image of the chowkidar, which has been manipulated and used by the opposition party, the INC, to defame PM Modi and his Government, is a strong weapon for standing out in the upcoming elections.
The Main Bhi Chowkidar campaign, which was started on Twitter, addressed the citizens with a strong message, encouraging them to stand firm, be the change and the chowkidars of India.
The Chowkidar campaign is said to gain a lot of appreciation from Indians, as they are expressing their views and posting tweets regarding the campaign, with #MainBhiChowkidar.

The video showcased the development in India with all the welfare schemes and development projects of the BJP led Central Government. In the video, the Party also invited the citizens of India to join the campaign through social media platforms on the 31st of March at 6:00 P.M.
The campaign is said to be one of the most vital campaign strategies of the BJP, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled from the 11th of April to the 19th of May 2019 and the major parties contesting are the INC and the BJP.
The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be declared on the 23rd of May 2019.
