Sheila Dikshit, the Chief of the Indian National Congress (INC) in Delhi, on the 24th of April, conducted a meeting with the INC candidates contesting the Delhi Lok Sabha elections.
Ms. Dikshit chaired the meeting to draft an individual strategy for every candidate contesting the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi. She also briefed the candidates about their respective constituencies, as some of them are contesting for the first time.
A senior INC leader addressed the media and said, “Vijender Singh is new to politics, but there are other leaders who, though seasoned politicians, have not fought from these constituencies. This is a morale boosting session for the candidates.”
The meeting also formulated a campaign strategy to contest the Lok Sabha elections against the opposition parties, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
According to sources, Ms. Dikshit is scheduled to hold another meeting, on the 25th of April, following which, the candidates will be introduced officially to the media.
The INC, on the 22nd of April, announced 6 candidates contesting the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi.
Delhi will contest a total of 7 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, scheduled on the 12th of May 2019.
The major parties contesting the Delhi Lok Sabha elections are the INC, the AAP and the BJP.
The results of the Delhi Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
