The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) on the 21st of March, announced its first list of candidates contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Telangana. The list included the names of 10 candidates.
The list of the candidates in Telangana was finalised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, the President of the BJP, in a meeting with the Central Election Committee of the Party.
Apart from Telangana, some of the states where the BJP released its list of candidates are Assam, Karnataka, Odisha, Rajasthan and West Bengal.
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) also released its first and final list of the candidates contesting the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana.
As of now, the BJP announced 10 candidates contesting the Telangana Lok Sabha elections, whereas the TRS and INC announced 17 and 8 candidates respectively.
Telangana will contest a total of 17 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled on the 11th of April.
The major parties contesting the Telangana Lok Sabha elections are the INC, the TRS and the BJP.
The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
