The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) on the 21st of March, released its first and final list of candidates contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Telangana.
K.Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana and the President of the TRS, announced the list of the 17 candidates selected to contest the Lok Sabha elections.
The 17 Members of Parliament (MPs) nominated for contesting the Telangana Lok Sabha elections are given below:
KCR announced the list during a public meeting, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, in Telangana.
Although the TRS filed nominations for 17 seats, the Party is confident of winning 16 Lok Sabha seats, whereas one would be secured by the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM.)
Asaduddin Owaisi, the President of the AIMIM, and KCR share a good relationship and had talks regarding the seats for the Telangana Lok Sabha elections.
The AIMIM President will contest 1 Lok Sabha seat in the Hyderabad constituency, which he is most likely to win, as a majority of votes could be in his favour.
Speaking about the winning possibilities of the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) both the parties have to defeat the TRS, which is a tough competitor in Telangana.
Telangana will contest a total of 17 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled on the 11th of April 2019.
The major parties are the AIMIM, the TRS, the INC and the BJP.
The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
