Madala Ranga Rao the veteran Tollywood actor passed away on Sunday at the age of 71. The actor who is known for his revolutionary films died while undergoing surgery. He suffered a heart attack and was rushed to a private hospital for treatment.
Mr. Rao was born in Mynampadu of Prakasam District on the 25th of May in 1948. Apart from being a brilliant actor Madala has also directed and produced films under the Navataram banner.
Madala was famously known as the Red Star and was inclined to a leftist ideology. While the film industry in the 1980s was busy making love stories, Madala took it upon himself to work on movies relating to the social evils in society.
Mr. Madala Ranga Rao acted in over 60 films and was famously known for Maro Kurukshetram and Yuvataram Kadilindi. Madala acted in famous films like Maha Prasthanam, Navondayam, Balipeetam Pai Baratanari, Tolipoddu, Praja Shakti, Viplava Sankam and Errapavuralu.
Madala rose to fame after Yuvataram Kadilindi in 1980 for which he won the Golden Nandi Award. This award is a prestigious State Government award in Andhra Pradesh.
