A Senior fire brigade official reported that a fire broke out at the RK Studios in Chembur in Mumbai this afternoon.
The official further stated that six fire tender and five water tankers were deployed to the site to douse the flames.
RK Studios is the company that runs RK Films Production Company which was established and named after famous Bollywood actor Raj Kapoor.
The Chief of the Mumbai fire brigade, P.S. Rahangdale reported that they received an alert call at 2:22 P.M., and the firefighters reached the studio in five minutes.
It was reported that the hall number 1 was completely damaged due to the fire. In the same part of the studio, electrical work was going on. It’s been speculated that an electric short circuit could have triggered off the fire.
He was quoted saying, “The fire was confined to electric wiring, electric installation, decoration equipment in the 100×80 sq ft area on the ground floor of the building.”
Efforts to put out the fire are in progress and the reason for the fire will be ascertained once a proper inquiry is done.
