Sharad Pawar, the President of the Nationalist Communist Party (NCP,) on the 19th of February, announced, he will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Mr. Pawar addressed media and said, “Parth, Rohit and Ajit will not contest the election. I am going to contest.”

The statement of Mr. Pawar came after an exclusive interview of Parth Pawar, Sharad Pawar’s nephew, with The Hindustan Times.

During the interview, when Parth was asked whether he will contest the elections or not, Parth said, the third generation of the Pawar family is ready to contest, if given a chance.

Speaking about the strategy for the upcoming elections in Maharashtra, Sharad Pawar said, “Sushil Kumar Shinde and I are going to contest the Lok Sabha election.”

After the statement of Sharad Pawar, it is clear he will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as a representative of the Madha constituency. On the other hand, Sushil Kumar Shinde, a member of the NCP, will represent the Solapur constituency.

However, an official announcement regarding the same is yet to be made.
