On Thursday, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti expressed her sorrow over the death of 6 persons in the cloudburst in the Doda district. She instructed the administration to fasten the rescue and relief works.
She asked the district administration to provide sufficient treatment facilities to the injured. In addition to it, she directed the district administration to make arrangements for food and shelter for the people affected by the cloudburst and consequent flash floods, an official spokesman said.
The Chief Minister has asked Shyam Choudhary who is the Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control to rush to Doda and oversee relief and rescue operations.
Six people died and eleven were injured in the flash floods which were triggered by a cloudburst wreaked havoc in Thathri town of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. Flooding vast areas along the Batote Kishtwar National Highway, it washed away half a dozen houses.
