S.Pedda Yerikal Reddy, the Member of Parliament of the Nandyal constituency, passed away, on the 30th of April, in Hyderabad. Mr. Reddy belonged to the JanaSena Party.

Mr. Reddy was 69 years old at the time of his death and was suffering from a prolonged illness. The news of his demise broke out in the night of the 30th of April.

Mr. Reddy contested for the Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh on a JanaSena ticket from the Nandyal constituency.

Mr. Reddy started his political career in 1991, when he represented the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.) Later, in 2004, he switched to the Indian National Congress (INC) and contested from Nandyal constituency.

In 2014, S.P.Y. Reddy joined the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and once he won the Lok Sabha elections, he became the MP of Nandyal. However, soon after he won, Reddy jumped to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and in 2019, joined the JanaSena Party.

N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, the President of the JanaSena Party and other political leaders expressed their grief regarding S.P.Y. Reddy’s demise.
