Around 40 passengers were killed and several were injured in a bus accident near Kondagattu in Telangana. Among the dead, 20 were women and 7 were children. A state run Road Transportation Corporation (RTC) bus crashed near Kondagattu in Jagtial District on Tuesday.
There were a total of 62 passengers on the bus travelling to visit the famous Anjaneya Swami Temple. The bus was on its way when the driver lost balance and fell in a narrow valley. The Senior District Administration and police officers rushed to the spot and started rescue operations. The injured were admitted to Jagtial Area Hospital.
Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao expressed sympathy for the loss of lives and ordered the officials to provide the best possible medical treatment to the victims. Adding to this, he announced a compensation of Rs. 5 lakhs to the families of the deceased.
