The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE,) on the 24th of April, extended the Intermediate (Inter) results’ revaluation and recounting date to the 27th of April 2019.
The final date to apply for the results’ revaluation was the 25th of April. Based on the requests of the parents and students, the TSBIE extended the deadline by two days.
According to sources, thousands of students who appeared for the Inter exams of the 1st and 2nd year were marked failed or absent. Approximately 6 students committed suicide after the results were released on the official website of the TSBIE.
The students and their parents, on the 20th of April, started a protest against the TSBIE and alleged the board of inaccurate evaluation.
The Students Federation of India (SFI,) the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the Telangana Parents Association (TPA) also extended their support and sought an explanation regarding the results.
On the 23rd of April, G. Jagadish Reddy, the Education Minister of Telangana, also assured strict action against the authority if it is found guilty.
The students were advised to apply for revaluation and recounting, following which, the deadline was also extended.
The students can apply for revaluation till the 27th of April 2019.
