Telangana – KCR Reviews Progress of Kaleshwaram Project

K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 4th of June, reviewed the progress of Kaleshwaram project, built on the Godavari river, in Bhupalpally, Telangana.

KCR was accompanied by P. Rajeshwar Reddy, S. Subhash Reddy, J. Santosh, Tula Uma, B. Vinod Kumar and senior officials of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)

KCR also visited Godavari river and threw coins in it as a way of offering prayers. Later, he went to Jagtial district and directed officials to fix the motors of Rampur Pump House, Rampur village of Jagtial district, Telangana by the 15th of July.

He also asked V. Prashanth Reddy, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Balkonda, to supervise the ongoing work of the Kaleshwaram irrigation project and visit the location every second day.

The Kaleshwaram project is said to be one of the most expensive projects, worth Rs. 80,500 crores. After the completion of the project, approximately 13 districts of Telangana be provided with irrigation facilities, barrage, reserves and drinking water supply.

The Kaleshwaram irrigation project is expected to start its trial run from July 2019.
