K.T. Rama Rao, the Working President of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) on the 1st of May, warned the leaders of the opposition parties not to turn the issue involving the Intermediate (Inter) results into a political agenda.

KTR said, on behalf of the TRS Government, he will file a defamation case against the Indian National Congress (INC) leaders, who accused the Government in Intermediate results issue.

KTR, on the 1st of May, addressed Party workers at the Telangana Bhawan and said, “The issue is sensitive. I appeal to students and parents to exercise restraint and not get carried away by the propaganda of a few vested interests. With folded hands, I appeal to political parties to think about the future of students and exercise restraint.”

Recently, on the 18th of April, the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) released the Inter results on its official website.

According to sources, the issue came to light after thousands of students who appeared for the Inter exams were marked failed or absent, due to which, 6 students committed suicide.

Since the 20th of April, students who appeared for Intermediate 1st and 2nd year exams are protesting against the TSBIE for declaring incorrect results. Both parents and students are demanding justice and a re evaluation of the incorrect results.

K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, as well as G. Jagadish Reddy, the Education Minister of Telangana, looked into the matter and constituted a fact finding committee.

The Committee is investigating the matter and trying to resolve the issue.

Though the TRS Government asked the political parties and parents to stay calm and not introduce any political agendas in the issue, some leaders are criticising the KCR led TRS.

K. Laxman, the President of the BJP in Telangana, is on strike since the 30th of April and is demanding justice for the students. On the other hand, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) is using the matter to defame the TRS and fulfil their political agendas.

The verification of the Inter results of 1st and 2nd year is still in process. Based on the report of the Committee, the TRS assured the students and parents it will punish the guilty.

The concerned authorities are currently investigating the matter.

Stay tuned for further updates.
