The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) the ruling Government of Telangana, approved the demand of the police department of a weekly off.
On the 24th of June, the M. Mahendar Reddy, the Director General of Police (DGP,) after the approval by the TRS, issued an order for the rule to be implemented phase wise in all the districts of the State.
In the first phase, the weekly off system will be implemented in Warangal, Karimnagar and Nalgonda districts.
The announcement gave immense happiness to approximately 54,000 police personnel in Telangana.
Andhra Pradesh is also expected to implement the weekly off system for the police personnel of the State.
