Vivekananda Reddy, a member of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) died, on the 15th of March.

The 68 year old is said to have died due to a cardiac arrest, however, the postmortem reports state, he was murdered.

The doubt regarding the murder cropped up due to the situation and the circumstances in which Reddy’s body was found. Vivekananda Reddy was found dead in the bathroom, at his residence in Kadapa district. It is said, Vivekananda was alone at his house when the incident took place.

M.V. Krishna Reddy, the Personal Advisor of Vivekananda Reddy, reached Vivekananda’s residence at around 5:30 A.M., and found blood stains in the room and his body in the bathroom.

J. Shankaraiah, the Circle Inspector (CI) of the Pulivendula Urban, said, “The complainant said that there were injuries on his forehead, the back of his head and on his palms. We have sent the body to the Pulivendula Area Hospital for a post mortem and an investigation has begun. His family members are expected to arrive soon.”

According to the postmortem reports, Reddy had a total of seven injuries on his body. The reports suggest, it was a murder and not a natural death.

The YSRCP leaders filed a case and ordered the Andhra Pradesh Police to investigate the matter. Rahul Dev Sharma, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Kadapa district, ensured the police will find out the real story behind Vivekananda’s death. He said, “A Special Investigation Team has been formed headed by Addl SP (Operations) B Lakshminarayarana. CLUES team visited the spot along with dog squad. They took stock of the scene and forensic experts were called to the residence. We are investigating the incident from all angles and we’ll ensure that no stone is left unturned.”

The police registered a case under Section 174 (Suspicious death) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC.) The investigation for the same is underway.
