Congress President Rahul Gandhi got the MPs excited in the Parliament as he hugged Prime Minister Narendra Modi after his speech. Gandhi attacked the Government about women’s safety and the Rafale deal before his warm gesture towards the PM. After questioning the BJP led Government, Gandhi decided to say he had no hatred towards Modi and walked up to the PM and hugged him.
Gandhi first awkwardly hugged Modi while the Speaker questioned his actions. Modi called Gandhi back and the two shook hands and exchanged a few words. This brought the MPs in the Parliament to their feet laughing and applauding.
During the first day of the Monsoon Parliament Session, the No Confidence motion was accepted by the Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan. This was the first time in 15 years the No Confidence motion which was raised by Congress and Telugu Desam Party was accepted by the speaker.
Speaker Mahajan said the notice moved by TDP and Congress will be taken up on Friday. About 50 opposition lawmakers stood in support of the No Confidence motion. The Speaker will have a discussion on the No Confidence motion on Friday.
