OnePlus, the renowned Chinese smartphone maker, is partnering with Reliance Digital with a vision of expanding its business. The company plans to focus on the Tier II cities’ (smaller cities with a population ranging between 50,000 and 99,999) markets for their offline sales.

A partnership with Reliance Digital will help OnePlus mainstream their product in Tier II cities by establishing kiosks inside 20 Reliance Digital shops.

According to the partnership deed, the initial cities decided for the establishments are Mohali, Ghaziabad, Mangalore, Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar along with other Tier I cities (metropolitan cities with a population of more than 1,00,000.)

Vikas Agarwal, the General Manager of OnePlus India, said, “We will be launching exclusive OnePlus Kiosks in 20 Reliance Digital stores across the country, which will help us not only improve our visibility but also reach out to new audience base across markets where we do not currently have a large presence.”

Speaking about the strategy, he said, “We have three offline channels now and going forward we will be selective about our presence offline as we want our offline experience to be very targeted while still making sure that users are satisfied with the authenticity of the products wherever they are buying.”

The launch is scheduled for the 30th of October and will include some special Diwali offers. The stock will consist of OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T, after the latter’s launch.

It is expected, Reliance Digital will declare some surprise offers for the customers buying OnePlus products from their stores. Reliance Digital did the same before for Apple products and the subscribers of Jio.

OnePlus started its journey in the year 2013 and rapidly took over the online markets. The company recently tied up with the Tata Group, which own a retail chain for electronics, Croma, in the month of September. Apart from these companies, OnePlus also shares a partnership with Amazon for online sales across the country.
