In Krishnapatnam town of Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, people are looking forward to getting an Ayurvedic cure for the Wuhan virus (Novel Coronavirus.) 

Prepared by a local Ayurveda practitioner Bonigi Anandiah, the Ayurvedic medicine is said to be a relief to people who tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus. The local Ayurvedic expert made headlines for providing medicine to ones who approached him, free of cost.

Soon, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Sarvepalli Constituency Kakani Govardhan Reddy took part and announced the distribution of the Ayurvedic cure for COVID-19 to begin from the 21st of May. Everyday, only 1,000 people would get the Ayurvedic medication. Based on the announcement, many people of A.P., gathered in Krishnapatnam and are waiting to get the medicines.

For the distribution of the Ayurvedic medicine, the concerned officials made all the necessary arrangements including counters, queue lines marking, ensuring physical distance at the venue. The prepared medication has become famous amongst the people, especially when the State is witnessing a second wave of the deadly Wuhan virus. Many people reported positive effects after taking the ayurvedic medicine by Bonigi Anandiah. Highlighting the ingredients of the medicine, it is in the form of balls or liquid drops, containing natural antioxidants and components such as pepper, ginger, neem, turmeric, and tinospora cordifolia, commonly known as giloy.

Meanwhile, as per the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s directions, the district administration formed a committee consisting of officials, and AYUSH doctors to evaluate the efficacy of the concoction. Nellore collector K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu also confirmed the study and said the committee did not come across any adverse effects in people who took the medicine. Therefore, taking the Ayurvedic medicine of Anandiah is harmless for people.

Adding to it, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) officials would also study the ayurvedic medicine by Anandiah. The State Government also sent a few samples of the medicine for testing to a laboratory in Hyderabad. The results of the laboratory are awaited.

Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is also scheduled to review the authenticity of ayurvedic medicine.
