Covid-19 Updates: India Records 11,92,915 Cases With Lowest Fatality Rate At 2.43 On the 22nd of July, India reported a dip in the daily spike with 37,700 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19. 

The cases registered in the past 24 hours took the total surge to 11,92,915 cases.

Though the cases are increasing, the recovery rate is also improving and is currently at 63.12% from the previous 62.72%.

According to the updates, recovered patients are much more than active cases in India.

India has 7,53,049 recovered or discharged patients and 4,11,133 active cases till the 21st of July.

The Union Health Ministry yesterday, credited the efficient clinical management of hospitalised cases for this achievement.

Enhanced tracing, testing and treatment is one of the major reasons for the big everyday spike in the Novel Coronavirus.

Of the total cases, majority of the cases are from Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the human trials of Bharat Biotech’s vaccine for coronavirus COVAXIN, began at Rohtak’s Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences.

On the 21st of July, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Science also began the human trials of the COVID-19 vaccine.

NIMS of Hyderabad is one of the 12 Institutes selected by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for the clinical and human trial of the COVAXIN.

If approved by the ICMR, the vaccine could be launched as a cure for the deadly virus which broke out 8 months back, in December 2019.

Besides India, Oxford University and China are also trying for a vaccine to cure COVID-19.

Globally, the Novel Coronavirus affected as many as 14,880,369 people and claimed 613,989 lives till the 22nd of July.
