Telangana Government said it could not provide vaccines to all those above 18 years of age from the 1st of May. The statement came two days before the beginning of the third phase of the Nationwide COVID-19 drive.

Eatala Rajender, the Health Minister of Telangana said, “The Government will provide vaccines if the state gets it from the centre. However, vaccination drives could not be taken up for all in the state.” Alleging the Central Government for the same, He said Centre has done nothing to the states pertaining to COVID-19 situation.

Eatala Rajender further said, the situation would have been better, if the Central Government would have asserted about the situation before. He said, “The Centre has no foresight in the supply of vaccines and injections.” The statement further added, “It’s not right to blame the states for the mistakes done by the Centre. All the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) ruled states are misleading the country by providing false information over COVID-19 positive cases and deaths.”

Besides Telangana, states like Maharashtra, Assam, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh also would not be able to provide vaccination for age group of 18 to 44 from the 1st of May.
