After the months of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination drive, people are still unaware of the process and registration.

While half of the population is new to online registration, the other half is doubtful about the vaccination process. The people between the age group of 18 years to 44 years old who were announced to be eligible for the COVID-19 doses from May 1st are also uncertain about the COVID-19 doses and are avoiding the vaccination.

Where to register for COVID-19 doses? 

In order to book an appointment or get COVID-19 vaccine doses, one needs to register at the CoWIN Portal.

Besides, you can also use the Arogya Setu application to register for the vaccination process. It is to be noted upto 4 people could register at CoWIN portal for vaccine doses using one number.

Who all are eligible for COVID-19 Vaccine? 

Anyone above 18 years old are eligible to get their COVID-19 vaccine doses in India.

Recently, pregnant women and lactating mothers were also given a green signal to take their vaccine doses against the Wuhan virus.

Available vaccines in India? 

India has four vaccines available. Two of them are made in India vaccines and the remaining two are foreign vaccines. The two India made vaccines are the Serum Institute of India (SII) manufactured Covishield and the Bharat Biotech International Private Limited manufactured COVAXIN. Among the foreign vaccines, one is the Russian vaccine Sputnik V, manufactured by Dr. Reddy’s Laboratory, Hyderabad, and the second one is the Moderna vaccine manufactured by Pfizer (USA,) which is only on an import basis.

Vaccination cost? 

For Covishield, one needs to pay Rs. 780, COVAXIN costs at private hospitals are between Rs.1, 200 to Rs. 1,400 max.

Sputnik V is available at a cost of Rs. 1,145.

Meanwhile, COVAXIN and Covishield are available at government hospitals in India at free of cost.

It is to be noted, so far approximately 43 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine has been administered in India.
