In Hyderabad, approximately 2,200 Novel Coronavirus positive patients are said to be missing from the past two weeks. 

The news was confirmed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on the 16th of July. The incident came to light when the officials tried to contact the patients to hand over home isolation kits.

The GHMC officials said around 2,200 people who were tested positive of COVID-19 infection and asked to be under home isolation.

The phone number and address provided by these patients is said to be wrong.

The GHMC officials failed to trace the patients as they provided wrong phone numbers and their temporary address was different from their permanent address.

Badhavath Santosh, the GHMC Additional Commissioner of Health, said, “Patients who are in home isolation and have not got the home isolation kits should come forward and cooperate with the officials.”

Lokesh Kumar, the Commissioner of the GHMC, said, “Around 10 members who tested positive have given the same phone number and the GHMC officials are unable to reach the number. ”

The missing patients created panic amongst the citizens of Telangana and worried the GHMC officials who are still trying to trace these people.

Meanwhile, Telangana recorded a total of 39,342 cases of the Novel Coronavirus. Of the total, 12,957 are active cases, 25,999 are recovered cases and 386 deceased.
