India COVID-19 Death Cases Surges 2 Lakh Mark With 3,000 New Deaths

The Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 death cases surged past the 2 lakhs mark on the 28th of April in India.   In the past 24 hours, India reported close to 3,293 deaths and more than 3.60 lakh fresh COVID- 19 cases.   The new figures of the COVID-19 infection were confirmed by the Union Health Department on the 28th of April. 

The updated figures of the Novel Coronavirus are available on the official website of the Union Ministry of the Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)  According to the MoHFW website, there are 3,60,960 fresh COVID-19 cases, 3,293 deceased cases and 

This is the seventh consecutive day with over 3 lakh single day COVID-19 cases were reported in India.  In addition, for the first time, India recorded more than 3,000 deaths due to the Novel Coronavirus. 

The six most affected states by total cases are Maharashtra (4,410,085,) Kerala (1,405,655,) Karnataka (1,400,775,) Uttar Pradesh (1,086,625,) Tamil Nadu (1,081,988) and Delhi (1,047,916.)

With this, currently India has 17,997,267 positive cases, of which 14,817,371 are recovered/discharged cases, 29,78,709 are active cases and 2,01,187 deceased cases of Novel Coronavirus.

Meanwhile, globally 1,49,313,302 are infected by the deadly contagion. Of the total, 1,27,451,084 have recovered and 3,148,014 have died so far. 

While the United States of America (U.S.A.,) is the worst hit nation with 32 million cases, followed by India with 17 million cases.
