On the 26th of September, India’s COVID-19 case tally crossed 59 or 5.9 million mark.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on its official website, updated the new 85,362 COVID-19 cases and 1,089 deaths
According to the updated data, as many as 59,03,932 are positive cases, of which 4,849,584 are recovered/discharged and 93,440 deceased.
The top five states of India with the highest number of the Novel Coronavirus cases are:
Maharashtra: 13,00,757.
Andhra Pradesh: 6,61,458.
Tamil Nadu: 5,69,370.
Karnataka: 5,57,212.
Uttar Pradesh: 3,78,533.
Despite the everyday spike in cases, India recorded a recovery rate of 82.10 % for the Novel Coronavirus.
In addition, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said, till date the cumulative total samples tested for COVID-19 stood at 7,02,69,975. The number of samples tested on the 25th of September is 13,41,535.
Meanwhile, the global tally of the Coronavirus cases stands at 32,743,339, of which 24,163,980 recovered, 992,886 have died.
Worldwide, the United States of America (U.S.A.,) is the worst COVID-19 hit country with 7,236,378 cases. It is followed by India, which has 5,901,571 cases, Brazil (4,692,579) and Russia (1,136,048.)
