India Records Lowest, 10,064 New COVID-19 Cases In Past 7 Months

The Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 infection crossed 1,05,81,837 cases in India.

However, it is the first time in the past 7 months that India recorded the lowest COVID-19 cases.

According to the Union Health Ministry, India reported 10,064 new cases in the past 24 hours. In addition, the Country reported 137 fatalities including, 35 from Maharashtra, 17 from Kerala, 10 from West Bengal, nine from Karnataka, and eight each from Delhi and Tamil Nadu.

The updated figure of the Novel Coronavirus is available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)

As per the MoHFW website, India has 1,05,81,837 positive cases, of which 1,02,28,753 are recovered/discharged cases, 1,52,556 are deceased and only 2,00,528 are active cases.

With this the active caseload rate is 1.90%, recovery rate is at 96.66 % while the COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.44 %.

The COVID-19 active caseload remained below three lakh since past two months.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR,) so far 18,78,02,827 samples have been tested for COVID-19 including 7,09,791 samples tested in the past 24 hours.

According to sources, nearly 81 % of the daily new cases are from eight states, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.

In addition, Maharashtra, Kerala, West Bengal, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh have logged 66 % of the total daily deaths.
