On the 23rd of July, India reported 35,342 new cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)
In the past 24 hours, the nation reported 35,342 new cases, 483 fatalities and 38,740 recoveries.
The single day spike fell by 3,881 cases compared to the Wuhan virus reported on the 22nd of July. On Thursday, India reported 41,383 new COVID-19 cases.
The new confirmed figures of the Wuhan virus was updated by the Union Health Ministry on the morning of Friday. The updated figures are available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)
As per the MoHFW data, India has 3,12,93,062 positive cases of the Wuhan virus, of which 4,05,513 are active cases, 3,04,68,079 are recovered/discharged cases and 4,19,470 are deceased cases till date.
The number of active cases account for 1.30% of the total caseload, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is at 97.36 % and fatality rate is at 1.34 %.
The new Wuhan virus cases across India were detected after conducting as many as 16,68,561 tests for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. With this, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) confirmed 45,29,39,545 tests being conducted for the Wuhan virus illness till date.
Meanwhile, speaking about the figures of COVID-19 vaccine doses being administered, the Union Health Ministry said, a total of 42.34 crore vaccine doses have been administered to people in India.
Of the total, 48,86,103 vaccine doses have been administered on Thursday, the 22nd of July.
