India on the 27th of October reported 36,410 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus.
The updated figure was confirmed by the Union Health Ministry. Besides 36,410 new cases, India recorded 488 deaths.
This is the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in the past 2.5 months.
With these updates, the Country’s tally of 79.46 lakh (79,46,429) including 6,25,857 active cases, 72,01,070 recovered/discharged and 1,19,502 deceased.
India’s COVID-19 situation is improving with active cases below 7 lakhs and recovery rate above 90%.
The fatality rate also dropped to 1.50 %, till the 27th of October.
The Union Health Ministry said the Case Fatality Ratio (CFR) was lower than one per cent in at least 14 states and Union Territories, including Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, Odisha, Assam and Kerala.
The Union Health Ministry said, “India has one of the lowest fatality rates in the world. The case fatality rate is lowest since March 22 and is continuously declining.”
The top five states with the highest number of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases are Maharashtra (16,48,665,) Andhra Pradesh (8,08,924,) Karnataka (8,05,947,) Tamil Nadu (7,11,713) and Uttar Pradesh (4,72,078.)
India remains the second most affected country by the pandemic as the United States of America (U.S.A.,) is the first COVID-19 affected nation.
The U.S.A., has nearly 87 lakh cases and 2.25 lakh deaths.
