On the 18th of September, India’s Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 tally crossed 5.2 million cases with 96,424 new Coronavirus infections.
While the number of people who have recovered from the disease rose to 41,12,551, the active cases stood at 10,17,754.
On the morning of the 18th of September, the Union Health Ministry updated the data on the official website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)
According to the updated data, the total coronavirus cases mounted to 52,14,677, the death toll climbed to 84,372 with 1,174 new deaths and recovered cases to 41,12,551.
The COVID-19 case fatality rate due to the coronavirus infection dropped to 1.62 % and recovery rate stood at 78.86 % and total active cases rate is at 19.52 %.
Of the total active cases, 65 % are from cities of 5 states, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking about cases in the past month, till the 7th of August, India’s COVID-19 tally crossed the 20 lakh mark, till the 23rd of August, 30 lakh, till 5th of September 40 lakhs and till the 18th of September, 52 lakhs.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR,) till date a total of 6,15,72,343 samples have been tested for the Novel Coronavirus infection.
In the past 24 hours, the health officials in India conducted 10,06,615 samples tests.
