In order to contain the spread of the deadly Wuhan virus, two villages of Jagtial district, Telangana, imposed a self lockdown. Villages named Endapally and Maddulapalli announced a 10 days lockdown.
The decision to impose self lockdown was taken in the wake of the rising number of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases. In the last week, Endapally registered 12 new cases and one death, whereas Maddulapalli registered 33 new of COVID-19 cases.
The second wave of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) left a huge impact in rural areas of the State.
Many villages and suburb areas of Telangana, witnessed huge number of COVID-19 cases, between April-July. In order to prevent the spread and ensure the safety of the villagers, the aforementioned two villages decided to restrict activities of individuals under the lockdown. The Gram Panchayat of these villages passed a resolution imposing the lockdown.
As per the guidelines of the lockdown, all hotels and shops in the villages are allowed to run from 7:00 A.M., to 9:00 A.M. A ban on the transport of labourers via auto rickshaws was also announced.
To ensure everyone follows the guidelines, the village panchayat imposed a hefty fine of Rs.5,000 on the violators. In addition, a fine of Rs. 1,000 has been announced for those not following social distance and wearing masks.
The imposed lockdown is in effect till the 1st of August.
