K.T. Rama Rao, the Information Technology and Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, inaugurated a 10 intensive care unit (ICU) beds programme. The new initiative was taken on the 5th of June, at Narayanpet district, Telangana.
The new 10 ICU bed programme is an initiative taken with Vinod Khosla, the founder of Khosla Ventures, to provide enhanced medical services during the Wuhan virus pandemic. With this, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government would set up 300 ICU beds across the 28 districts of Telangana.
K.T. Rama Rao, the Working President of the TRS said, “After the formation of Telangana, CM KCR has given priority to improving healthcare infrastructure In the last seven years, Telangana Govt (Government) has added over 1,600 ICU beds in districts apart from setting up 5 new medical colleges, while another 7 medical colleges are in scheduled to be completed.
KTR took to his official Twitter and tweeted about the 10 bed ICU inaugurated at Narayanpet.
The launch of the 10 ICU beds came a day after the Minister inaugurated 150 beds for COVID-19 patients.
Meanwhile, KTR said, as of now, the Wuhan virus situation is under control and the intensity of the second phase is likely to reduce. However, he asked people to be cautious and take the necessary precautions as the third wave is expected to come in September-October.
