And The fifth stage of the Unlock is set to begin in October in India. 

Since the nationwide lockdown was imposed, on the 24th of March, a majority of public places, restaurants, shops, schools and theatres were shut.

However, from May end, the Central Government of India announced the process of unlock in a phased manner.

Till now, Indian Government announced temples, shops, restaurants, metros, shopping malls, buses, trains, inter state and intra state movement, gyms and monuments to be operational during 4 phases of unlock.

Only theatres and schools were shut during Unlock 4.0, which is scheduled to end on the 30th of September.

However, in Unlock 5.0, movie theatres and schools are likely to open after 7 months of closure.

Speculations are that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is likely to announce Unlock 5.0, which would be imposed from the 1st of October.

Unlock 5.0 will likely witness a series of relaxations as the festive season is also going to begin in October.

While West Bengal is set to celebrate Durga Puja, the special festival of West Bengal, Diwali is in November.

In the next unlock the MHA is expected to announce relaxations of certain rules and opening more activities for the public .

Here’s what to expect in Unlock 5.0. :

The MHA might ease restrictions in containment zones.

Keeping social distancing in place, more economic activities might be allowed from the 1st of October.

Cinema Halls

During Unlock 4, the MHA did not allow resumption of movie halls except open air theatres, which resumed operations from the 21st of September. In Unlock 5.0, theatres would be allowed to function from the 1st of October.

While other states and the Central Government is yet to announce opening of theatres in India officially.

The West Bengal Government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, became the first state to announce the opening of theatres from the 1st of October.

In addition, all musical, dance, recital and magic shows would also be functional from the 1st of October.

However, the resumption should be with a minimum of 50 participants/working staff or less .

Social distancing, sanitizer and face masks would be mandatory for audiences as well as staff.

Thermal screening at the entrance would also be mandatory.

For the students of classes 9 and 10, schools have already started on a voluntary basis.

Primary classes will likely remain shut and the same will continue through online mode as well.

Meanwhile, Universities and colleges have started taking admission tests and the new academic year may begin via online classes in October.

The tourism sector is likely to start operations and welcome travellers in October.

However, an official announcement regarding the guidelines, Unlock 5.0, and others is yet to be made.

Meanwhile, Unlock 4.0, which started from the 1st of September is going to end on the 30th of September.
