Movie theatres, cinema halls and multiplexes are all set to open across India under the Unlock 5.0.
As per the allowance of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) movie halls, cinema and PVRs would open from the 15th of October.
cinema halls in Maharashtra would remain shut.
However unlike previous days, sanitizer, social distancing and face masks would be mandatory for the staff as well as the audience.
Closed since the 24th of March, cinemas are reopening with the protocol and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting after 7.5 months.
Indian cinema owners hope movie lovers would come back to watch their favorite actors and movies on the big screen.
INOX Leisure Limited, India’s second largest multiplex operator, said the chain would only be screening old films when it reopens on the 15th of October.
After the reopening of the theatres, a few producers are reportedly ready to take the risk
and releasing a few films in the coming days and months.
One such film Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, is likely to release on the 13th of November, during Diwali.
Other new movies releasing soon are : Indoo ki Jawani, Madam Chief Minister and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar.
Another Bollywood producer Aditya Chopra is also preparing to release Bunty Aur Babli 2, a sequel to a 2005 hit Bunty Aur Babli, soon.
On the 15th of October, theatres would release PM Narendra Modi, a biopic about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Another movie which would hit theatres on the 16th of October is Khaali Peeli.
Besides in many theatres, owners are rolling out old movies like Thappad, Tanhaji, Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhan, Malang, Kedarnath and War.
