Concerned about the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus pandemic, New Zealand again announced strict nationwide lockdown.
On the 17th of August, a single COVID-19 case was reported, following which the New Zealand Prime Minister Ms. Jacinda Ardern declared a complete lockdown.
With this, once again all the shopping malls, parks, schools, universities, business establishments, public places, transportation, workplaces and others would remain shut until three days. The entire nation would be under lockdown for the next three days, starting today, the 18th of August, except Auckland and the Coromandel Peninsula. These two regions of New Zealand would be under Strict lockdown for one week.
The official Twitter handle of Unite against COVID-19, informing about the New Zealand COVID-19 situation, posted a tweet regarding the same.
The tweet read, “From 11.59pm tonight, Tuesday 17 August, all of NZ will move to Alert Level 4. This measure will remain in place for 3 days from 11:59pm tonight for all of NZ, with the exception of Auckland & the Coromandel Peninsula, with both staying in Level 4 likely for the next 7 days.”
The major concern of the New Zealand Government is the new mutant of the Wuhan virus, Delta Plus variant.
The New Zealand Government has issued an order regarding the same and asked people to abide by rules and follow guidelines. She urged people to cooperate and venture outside only in emergency need.
