PM Modi Arrives In Hyderabad To Review COVID-19 Vaccine Progress At Bharat Biotech Premises

On the 28th of November, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Hyderabad to review the progress of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 vaccine. 

Mr. Modi today began his three city visit to review coronavirus vaccine development work in Ahmedabad, Pune and Hyderabad.

After visiting Ahmedabad and reviewing the vaccine development process at the Zydus Cadila research centre, Mr. Modi reached Hyderabad.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Hyderabad and headed to Bharat Biotech International Private Limited pharmacy, to review COVID-19 vaccine development. The Bharat Biotech Pharma facility is located in Genome Valley, Hyderabad.

PM Modi was attended by Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Director General of Police and other officials at the Hakimpet Air Force station. As per sources, the Prime Minister Office (PMO) asked the CS Mr. Kumar not to ask CM KCR to attend Mr. Modi.

The COVID-19 vaccine, Covaxin, is being developed byBharat Biotech in collaboration with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR.) The vaccine named as COVAXIN is under the third phase of trial and is likely to be ready by 2021 January.

The Prime Minister will interact with researchers and scientists to get information about the development of the vaccine. He will take stock of the progress made in the vaccine production.

The visit is said to be a short visit as Mr. Modi is likely to fly back to New Delhi by 6:00 P.M., on the 28th of November.
